Organised by Silver-lining in support of Naomi House & Jacksplace, a wonderful Children’s Hospice based in Winchester, 18 organisations attended a corporate golf tournament at Skylark Golf and Country Club raising awareness and money for a remarkable charity.
A day of effective teamwork, commitment and friendly competition. With brief encounters with lost members to the heights of the rough, where their balls hide desperately avoiding another slice into the bushes. A few frustrated moments when balls drowned to the bottom of the pond, and some instances where bunkers had that unnerving habit of rushing out to meet the ball.
The GTMS team brought their game back remaining positive and continuously fighting their way towards the green. They came to prove the strength of the team is each individual member, and the strength of each member is the team. The collaboration of four golfers predestined a victory for GTMS but it also triggered many confused expressions including their own.
Overall, it presented a lovely day for organisations to come together to soak up a bit of sun, enjoy some healthy competition and most of all support a dedicated and inspiring charity. Naomi House’s commitment and success in helping terminally ill children enjoy their final days deserves endless support.
