EVENT OVERVIEW

In a bid to create a more sustainable, interactive and fun solution to waste left at festival sites, Coca-Cola introduced the ‘Happiness Recycled’ initiative at two festivals in 2014 – Royal Highland Show in Scotland and British Summer Time Festival in London’s Hyde Park.

THE BRIEF

By suggestion from GTMS, a converted shipping container was used to draw on the recycling initiative. Festival-goers were encouraged to take part in the interactive recycling games and challenges including a bin game whereby consumers would throw empty bottles into large funnels.

If the consumer scored, they would be congratulated and receive a prize. All participant’s involvement in the scheme were caught on camera and these become recycled themed tattoo transfers that were handed out at the Happiness Bank.

SOLUTION

GTMS were responsible for transforming the whole shipping container into a recycling bank for Coca-Cola. The conversion required a lot of expertise in build, print, fitting, AV equipment, design etc. All parts of the container were compatible including the large neon ‘Happiness Recycled’ sign above the container which would fold away for logistics and pop up at the event.
